Unifor reaches tentative agreement under the Conciliation Process for the Canadian North Members

November 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM
Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that a first tentative and ‘merged’ agreement was reached with Canadian North Airlines on November 19th, 2020 in Ottawa.

Due to COVID-19, bargaining commenced in July utilizing video conferencing technology until it was safe to meet in person. In August 2020, the membership rejected the tentative agreement and the union and company jointly filed for conciliation. All parties were able to meet in person in Ottawa to address the issues that our members had brought forward through the ratification meetings.

The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by all members within the CSA, Cargo, and Ramp classifications. Details of the tentative agreement will be provided at the upcoming ratification meetings which will be held via Teams Meeting on November 30, and December 1 and 2, 2020.

Times and meeting details will be announced in the coming days. Members will have the opportunity to review the agreement and ask questions prior to voting on acceptance of the new contract.
