EVAS Air Pilots reject final offer

EVAS Air Pilots reject final offer

May 24, 2019 at 7:00 PM

Following the ratification meetings held in Halifax and Gander on May 23rd and May 24th, EVAS Air Pilots have spoken and have voted 95 per cent in favour to reject the Company's "revised final offer" for a new collective bargaining agreement.

"This vote was not taken in haste as the Company's terms did not meet our members expectations," said Euila Leonard, President of Unifor 2002. "The Union's hope was that EVAS Air's management team would recognize the valuable contribution their Pilot's make to the success of the Company. This final offer could put EVAS Air's future business practices in jeopardy."

With this vote now completed, Unifor members at EVAS Air are now in a legal strike position, which unless otherwise rectified, could be in effect as of midnight on June 8, 2019.

The Bargaining Committee would like to extend its appreciation and support to the members at EVAS Air who attended the ratification meetings or participated via conference call, and voted on the final offer.

More information will be communicated in the coming days. In the interim, please ensure you have subscribed to Unifor 2002's e-news at unifor2002.org.
