Strike Averted: Tentative Agreement Reached with EVAS

Late this afternoon (June 3, 2019), the Union and the Company reached a tentative agreement in their ongoing negotiations. As a result of this agreement, the Conference Call scheduled for June 4, 2019, at 19:30 Atlantic time has been is canceled. 

“We are pleased that the recent intensive negotiations have produced a tentative agreement for our pilots at EVAS.  I am proud of our Bargaining Committee and our EVAS pilots who showed continued professionalism and commitment throughout the negotiations. There is a lot of responsibility in being a pilot and this contract acknowledges the challenging work they do every day”, said Euila Leonard, President of Unifor Local 2002.

The agreement is subject to ratification by the membership. We will be holding Ratification Meetings on Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, 2019. Details will be provided tomorrow for the locations and times of these important meetings.

The Bargaining Committee is pleased to advise this tentative agreement provides enhanced improvements to the previous offer.   The Bargaining Committee is unanimously endorsing this tentative agreement and recommends members vote “yes”.  The highlights of the tentative agreement will be released electronically prior to the ratification meetings.  Voting for the agreement will be done electronically.
