Hilton Hotel - Saint John: Members ratify a new four-year agreement

We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, Unifor Local 2002 members working at the Hilton Hotel in Saint John, New Brunswick have voted 95 percent in favor of the new four-year agreement which was presented by their Bargaining Committee at the ratification meetings.

The four-year agreement expires on December 31st, 2021. Under the new collective agreement, members will receive wage increases for each year of the four-year agreement. Other monetary provisions include the additional sick day (8 hours) per year for full-time members, minimum shifts increased to four (4) hours, increase in severance pay, part-time members will be eligible to participate in the Company’s matched RRSP plan, improvement to dental benefits for part-time employees, incremental increase to Safety footwear to $250 then to $300, and three floating days per year effective January 1, 2019.

“We are pleased that we have reached a negotiated settlement. The new contract provides stability for the next four years and we are pleased to achieve increases that will protect the Hilton, Saint John, members. We listened to our members, and their desire for a better collective agreement and we delivered the results.” said Euila Leonard, President of Local 2002.

Unifor Local 2002 represents approximately 150 members at the Hilton, Saint John, these members perform and oversee every aspect of the hotel and convention center operations.
