Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that members employed at the Hilton Hotel in Saint John have ratified a new four-year agreement. The previous agreement expired December 31, 2021.
The tentative agreement, which was subject to a ratification vote by the membership, was accepted this evening by a majority approval. The new agreement will take effect immediately and will expire December 31, 2025.
Highlights of the new collective agreement include:

Wage increases of 4%, 3.50%, 3%, and 2.75% throughout the term of the agreement

Increased advanced notice of schedule implementation

Increased length of right to recall

New language for racial justice advocate

Improvement in benefit cost sharing from 50/50 to 60/40 with employer paying the larger share

Increased rate of acceleration for sick time
"Unifor is pleased that members have approved this new agreement that provides much needed stability after the hospitality sector was hit hard by COVID-19," said Tammy Moore, President of Unifor Local 2002. "This is an agreement that we can continue to build on at each round of negotiations. I would like to thank the Bargaining Committee who worked tirelessly to reach this agreement, as well, as the Hilton Hotel membership their support and solidarity throughout the bargaining process. Members are responsible for almost every aspect of hotel operation including engineering, front desk reception, housekeeping, kitchen functions and banquets at the Saint John Hilton Hotel and Convention Center.
