Following the conciliation proceedings between the union and employer on September 2, 2021, the parties advanced to binding arbitration which occurred September 22nd with the assistance of Mediator/Arbitrator William (Bill) Kaplan. This provided an opportunity for your Unifor Bargaining Committee to present the outstanding issues that were understood to be important and a priority for the Ornge membership.
As a result of these events, Arbitrator Kaplan has issued the following arbitration award (PDF).
Unifor was successful in achieving several improvements to the tentative agreement in several areas. To learn more, you are invited to attend one of the following Zoom meetings which will be held as follows:
SEPTEMBER 28, 2021
MEETING # 1:
1300 - 1400 EST
MEETING # 2:
1700 - 1800 EST
MEETING # 3:
1900 - 2000 EST (new)

NEXT STEPS
An updated MOS will be created and your Unifor Bargaining Committee will meet to review the document. Once finalized, a new collective agreement will be printed and made available to all members.
Your bargaining committee knows this has been a very long and tenuous process. The Committee wishes to recognize the perseverance and solidarity that this membership has shown throughout the process.
