The information contained in this bulletin is for our Unifor members employed at Air Georgian that have been laid off or still actively working.  Unifor members should have received a notice from KPMG the proposal trustee informing them of their rights, including a “form 31” with directions on how to file a proof of claim. Unifor members are eligible to apply for the Wage Earner Protection Program (WEPP).

Information for Former Employees regarding the Wage Earner Protection Program (“WEPP”)
WEPP provides payment up to a maximum amount for eligible unpaid wages, vacation pay, termination pay, and severance pay to former employees of an employer who is bankrupt. The Trustee will be making an application to WEPP on behalf of all former employees of Air Georgian The Trustee will mail to all former employees’ certain additional information regarding WEPP within 45 days of the date of the bankruptcy, being July 17, 2020.
