Air Georgian Members: It’s Business as Usual!

February 11, 2019 at 12:25 PM
On February 5th, 2019, the Union met with the Company to discuss a number of issues including the Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) agreement with Air Canada. The Company advised the Union that the CPA contract is slated to end within 12 months of their being served the notice from Air Canada. The Company confirmed that Beechcraft flying in Calgary will end on April 30, 2019. This announcement will affect 9 of our Unifor members in Calgary.

Air Georgian is committed in providing our members with as much notice as possible on the next steps. Should you make the decision to leave the Company, compensation is outlined in the collective agreement.
In the meantime, the Company has advised the Union that it is actively seeking new business.

In the event, that they are unsuccessful in securing new business, the Company will continue discussions with the Union on options for our members.

For our members in the System Operations Control Center (SOCC) group, Air Georgian is anticipating that these members will remain with the Company until February 2020.

The Company has advised the Union that it should have further information within the next 3-4 months.  We will ensure to keep you updated throughout this process, please ensure you are subscribed to e-news at www.unifor2002.org.
