Recently, we have learned that you will be assigned to Unifor local 2002 and wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Unifor family.

Unifor 2002 is the largest local union in Unifor representing close to 12,000 members from coast to coast to coast. Our membership consists primarily of aviation sector workers, but we also have groups that are related to the work we do in the aviation industry. We are experienced in negotiating collective agreements for sales agents, ground handlers, crew schedulers, pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air paramedics, support work for military bases, hotel workers ramp attendants, baggage system operators , apron coordinators and facility technicians. Our diversity helps us to represent a variety of workers with great success. Of course our achievements at the bargaining table is as a result of the participation and solidarity of our strong membership.

Gary Ellis, Unifor National Staff representative and Theresa Amicarelli, Assistant to Unifor 2002 president will work closely with you and the elected leadership as we prepare for bargaining.

ELECTIONS FOR BARGAINING COMMITTEE

Before we can negotiate a collective agreement, you will need to elect a bargaining committee consisting of three of your peers who will represent Unifor members at Air Georgian. We will soon send out an email inquiring who is interested in this position. Once elected, the bargaining committee will develop a bargaining survey. The data from the survey will be collected and a proposal meeting will be held to determine the bargaining priorities.

Your participation is fundamental to our success. We encourage you to have your voice heard. We will send out regular communications via our e news distribution list, so stay tuned.

In Solidarity,

Cheryl Robinson
Unifor 2002 President
