Following ratification meetings held today, Unifor 2002 members at Porter Airlines: Customer Service Representatives and Ambassadors voted in favour of ratifying a new agreement. The agreement was ratified by
73 percent, the term of the agreement is in effect until
April 26, 2022.
“The road to this agreement wasn’t easy, and the past few weeks were very challenging at the bargaining table. Our members placed their confidence in the Bargaining Committee, which enabled us to reach a tentative agreement”, said Euila Leonard, President of Unifor Local 2002. “I would like to thank the Bargaining Committee for working tirelessly on behalf of the members”.
The new agreement comes following a 98 percent strike mandate from the membership and a lengthy round of bargaining that had the Union file for conciliation in November of 2018.
Highlights of the Ratified Agreement include:
- Wage increases in each year of the collective agreement, including retroactive wages
- Increased “Rate of Pay” for Leads
- Increased overtime bank
- Ability to convert Statutory Holiday to Vacation entitlement
- Additional Bereavement leave
- Joint process on complaint resolution, discrimination, and Harassment etc.
- Increased allotment of shift trades per month
- Overtime bank carry over
- No blackout for vacation bid etc.
