Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that members employed at Porter Airlines' Fixed Based Operations, have ratified a new four-year agreement. The previous agreement expired May 26, 2022.
The tentative agreement, which was subject to ratification by the membership, was accepted by a majority approval, with 79% of members participating in the vote.
The new agreement will take effect immediately and will expire May 26, 2026.
Highlights of the new collective agreement include:

Significant wage increases with an additional step on the wage scale for those members with 121+ months of service

Wage increases for 2022 will be retroactive back to May 27, 2022

Benefit cost sharing will form part of the agreement

New language for racial justice and women’s advocates positions within the bargaining unit – including 8 hours of Company paid time when required for the Union appointed representative to perform their duties

Reduced amount of time on file for discipline issued from 24 months to 18 months

Reporting pay: increased from 3 to 4 hours

Increase from 1 day to 1 week paid for a full-time employee for paternity leave – note that this language has been improved to not be specific to only male employees

Improved language for union notification when discipline is issued, as well improved language and timelines related to recall after layoff
