Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that our members at Porter Airlines-Ramp Attendants have voted 81 percent in favour of the new agreement that provides an across-the-board wage increases and scheduling provisions.
"The vote to ratify this agreement demonstrates that progress can be achieved when our members stand united," said Euila Leonard, President of Unifor Local 2002. "Through the firm resolve of our Bargaining Committee, we worked through a series of issues to negotiate an agreement that offers our members significant improvements in wages and scheduling."
The new agreement comes after a 94 percent strike mandate from the membership and a challenging round of bargaining that led us to file for conciliation in November 2018. Unifor 2002 represents Ramp attendants employed at Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport.
Highlights of the tentative agreement include:
Wage increases for each year of the CBA, dating back to April 27, 2018
Increased "Rate of Pay" for Leads
Extension to Recall rights
Improvements to scheduling language: enhanced Hours of work/ Shift trade / Shift Give Away
Increased Overtime banks
Ability to convert Statutory Holidays to Vacation entitlement
Additional Bereavement Leave
Joint process on complaint resolution, Discrimination, and Harassment etc.
The Bargaining Committee would like to thank the membership for their support during the bargaining process and at the ratification vote. Please ensure that you have subscribed to Unifor 2002's e-news at unifor2002.org.
