Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that members at Porter Airlines' ramp group have ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement.

The tentative agreement that was reached on February 21 was presented to the membership at a series of in-person ratification meetings and was approved by a vote of 86%.

The deal provides substantial improvements including:

  • Significant increases to wages

  • Improvements to scheduling and vacation language

  • Job security language

  • Women’s and Racial Justice Advocate Language with company-paid time-off per month to perform the role

  • Company-paid time-off for local union representatives each month

"With the expansion of Porter Airlines into new markets, our Unifor Local 2002 members deserve to be compensated for helping grow the airline into what has become an internationally recognized air carrier," said Tammy Moore, Unifor Local 2002 President. "This is a robust contract that would not have been possible without the support from members who attended ratification meetings and supported this hard-working bargaining committee."

The Unifor Bargaining committee would like to thank the membership for their steadfast support throughout the negotiations process and for showing up to participate, listen, ask questions, and vote on the tentative agreement.
