We would like to provide you with an update on the recent bargaining sessions between the Bargaining Committee and the Employer- ASP Security. Over the past three days (July 4 to 6
th), the Committee met in person in Toronto to negotiate on behalf of the ASP membership. However, we want to acknowledge that negotiations have been challenging, and progress has been slow. The Committee remains committed to advocating for the priorities of our members and has been pressing the Employer to address these concerns.
We have secured four additional dates in July and August to continue these crucial negotiations. As the negotiations are ongoing, we are unable to disclose specific details to the membership to maintain the integrity of the process. Rest assured, we will keep you updated as much as possible regarding any significant developments.
STAY IN THE KNOW
As you are aware, the current collective agreement expired on December 31
st, 2022, even though we have gone past the expiration of the collective agreement, the contract remains in effect until we ratify a new agreement. All rights and protections remain in full effect.
Your elected Bargaining Committee needs to have the full support of the membership during these negotiations. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work tirelessly to represent your interests. Bargaining updates will be available on the Unifor 2002 website and via e-news.
