Update from your ASP Bargaining Committee

Update from your ASP Bargaining Committee

October 17, 2016 at 5:00 PM

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

The Unifor bargaining committee met with the employer the week of October 10th to continue negotiating a collective agreement for the membership. While we have made progress, the negotiating process has been slow. This is not unusual in negotiations when dealing with an employer who has to manage the request for proposal process with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority – the operator of Toronto Pearson International Airport.

We have moved onto discussing monetary issues and the bargaining committee has spent a considerable amount of time examining the monetary offer put forward by ASP. We are currently working on the union’s counter-offer. Negotiations – as you may be aware – is a process of back and forth offers from both sides.

Your bargaining committee is committed to ensuring a fair deal is reached on your behalf. We currently have tentative dates scheduled later this month and will communicate details once the talks continue.

During bargaining, all updates will be provided via Unifor 2002 bulletins. These bulletins will be available on the Unifor2002 website and via e-news. To receive updated news concerning negotiations, please subscribe to Unifor 2002 e-news by clicking the following link: SUBSCRIBE
