CLS Catering Vancouver Members Votes in Favour of Strike Action

June 21, 2022 at 9:27 PM

An overwhelming majority of Unifor Local 2002 – CLS Catering Vancouver members have cast their ballots in favour of a strike vote on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.  Members of CLS Catering voted 97 per cent in favour of strike action.

There is no doubt that these strong results demonstrate that CLS members support their bargaining committee in their quest for a fair and equitable collective agreement.  This strong strike mandate enables the committee to continue to work hard to obtain a collective agreement that meets the needs of the membership.

“The members have spoken and have made it very clear. No one wants a strike at the beginning of the peak summer season, but our members can’t accept a contract that will make life more difficult for their families, said Tammy Moore, President of Unifor Local 2002”. “As the cost of living continues to increase, we are seeking a new collective agreement that includes significant wage increases and improved working conditions. I hope that the Employer has gotten the message and is ready to recognize the hardworking members of CLS Catering and the commitment they make to this Company”.

The bargaining committee would like to extend sincere appreciation and thanks to the members from CLS Catering who came out to vote. Your collective confidence and determination for fairness is an inspiration in the ongoing fight for fairness and good-paying jobs.
