Canadian North: 2010 Bargaining Update

Canadian North: 2010 Bargaining Update

February 5, 2010 at 11:15 AM

We have just completed two days of meetings with Canadian North Management. The Bargaining Committee would like to assure members that even though we have gone past the expiration of the collective agreement, our contract continues until we ratify the new agreement - all rights and protections remain in full effect.

Prior to opening bargaining the CAW tabled all outstanding grievances. It is our intention to resolve these grievances prior to the completion of bargaining.

Bargaining opened with the exchange of proposals, but has moved at a very slow pace from there. We are continuing to work through the non-monetary issues trying to resolve many of the issues that the members raised during our proposal meetings.

We are set to meet with the company for our next round of negotiation on April 7th and 8th.We will update the members as soon as information can be released.

Your Bargaining Committee wants to thank you for your continued support.

In Solidarity,

Aida Kirameddine, District Chairperson / Bargaining Committee
Mike Byrne - CAW National
