On June 5th, CAW Local 2002 began contract discussions with First Air in hopes of reaching a fair and equitable deal.

For the lead up to discussions, the CAW bargaining committee requested input from the membership. They received valuable feedback from surveys and open dialogue which they will be bringing to the bargaining table as part of their overall approach.

"These demands will play an important role in the bargaining process," said Local 2002 president Jamie Ross. "The CAW is determined to bargain a new collective agreement we believe First Air will do the same."

CAW members at First Air connect 30 northern communities with Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg and Edmonton. The current collective agreement expired on May 7, 2012.
