Meetings to continue at the CIRB on December 21, 2007

Today the CAW, PSAC and a legal representative from the GTAA met at the CIRB in an attempt to come to an agreement with respect to the consolidation application.

The fundamental element of CAW's position is, and always has been, that all members should have the right to democratically choose which union will represent them moving into the future.

Unfortunately, PSAC does not agree with this position and as a result the process will continue before the Labour Board. A case management meeting will be held on Dec 21, at which point the CIRB will determine the next step in the consolidation process.

We continue to urge all PSAC members to sign the online petition and demand their right to a vote. The petition can be found at www.caw2002tca.ca/gtaa
