Work begins immediately to welcome PSAC members into CAW Local 2002

"I want to thank all CAW activists for their hard work in bringing PSAC members into the CAW's Airline Division", said Leslie Dias - President of CAW Local 2002. "It has been an uncertain year since GTAA filed a section 18 application to consolidate the bargaining units. Our members and executive worked tirelessly throughout this campaign and I applaud our campaign team for their efforts. In particular, Jeff Hatt (CAW GTAA Chairperson), his officers and members are to be commended for building a strong cohesive union at the GTAA. The organizing, communications and legal departments at the CAW National office must also be recognized for their diligent efforts though out this entire process. They were instrumental in moving the Labour Board to order a vote so employees of the GTAA had a say in which union will represent them into the future."

Leslie Dias stated, "I want to welcome the PSAC members and officers into the CAW. There will be much work ahead of us and we will be asking for all of your participation during the amalgamation as we build a united democratic membership for the future."

The CAW has a vast amount of experience integrating workforces. We ask all members to stay informed as we work through the integration and we will keep members updated as the consolidation progresses.
