GTAA: Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) establishes terms for representational vote

Representational vote between the CAW and PSAC to be conducted by Labour Board

Today the CAW, PSAC and GTAA management met at the CIRB offices in Toronto to discuss arrangements for the representational vote for employees at the GTAA.  The CIRB has decided on the following terms for a representational vote in February and March 2008:

  • The CIRB will conduct a secret ballot vote in the workplace at the times and locations noted below;

  • CAW and PSAC members who are eligible to cast ballots in the representational vote must meet the following conditions;

  1. They must have been employed at the GTAA on October 19, 2007;

  2. They must be employed at the GTAA on the day of the vote;

  • Members should bring picture ID to the voting location in the event it is requested by a scrutineer;

  • Proxy votes will not be allowed.

Further information regarding the vote will be posted in the work location by the CIRB.  After voting is completed all parties will meet at the CIRB offices in Toronto on March 3, 2008 to count ballots.
