On May 22 and 23 your GTAA Bargaining Committee met with the Employer to
continue contract negotiations. The sub-committee also met again to continue
their work.
During this round of meetings:
-
The sub-committee presented its recommendations on its proposal concept
-
Additional articles from both proposals were agreed to in principle
-
Both
sides continued to clarify and refine their proposals which led, in some cases,
to counter proposals and in others refusals
-
There were exchanges of
additional information including the presentation of situational examples which
require follow-up
-
The CAW redrafted some articles that were out-of-date,
unclear or had inconsistent language
-
Finalized rules of engagement for
future sub-committees were exchanged
-
Both parties continued to refine the
timelines for the exchange of monetary proposals which will be delivered May 24,
2013
The GTAA Bargaining Committee is scheduled to meet again on May 28 -29, 2013.
Negotiations with the Employer are continuing to progress at a steady pace and
will go into longer sessions once the monetary proposals are delivered.
