On Wednesday February 1st, members of your CAW Bargaining Committee met with
TBI Management. Representing the Union were Jeff Hatt, Fred Romolo, Nino
Smargiasso, Ron Funaro – Eastern Executive Assistant, and Monir Khalid –
National Staff Representative. They met with TBI’s Frank Walsh – General
Manager, Nancy Marzilli – Human Resources Director, and Vito Lotito –VP of Human
Resources / Administration for the GTAA.
The meeting opened with a statement by Mr. Lotito. He stated, “...the meeting
would be on a non-prejudice basis. If it is not, then this meeting is over.”
Although ‘off the record,’ the meeting was very positive. It set the ground
work for future meetings as we draw nearer to the transition date. At this time
it appears the transition will be considered a sale of business.
