We are pleased to announce the results of the Servisair/Swissport representational vote. Workers have clearly chosen Unifor as their union.

The CIRB (Canada Industrial Relations Board) conducted this vote as a result of the acquisition of Servisair by Swissport in 2013. Workers were asked to choose which union – Unifor or Steelworkers – would best represent them. Results of the vote are as follows:

      USW: 119
      Unifor: 336

More than a year ago, Servisair purchased Handlex which triggered a representational vote between Unifor (then CAW) and the IAM. When the vote was concluded, workers had chosen CAW (now Unifor).

"Today, we are once again honoured that workers have chosen Unifor as their union," said Unifor local 2002 president Cheryl Robinson. "This has been a long and turbulent process for workers at Servisair. With this representational vote now concluded, Unifor can focus all of its efforts on representing our members’ needs and resolving issues with management, as well as offering stability in a difficult industry. Many of our sisters and brothers in the workplace worked hard to make this victory possible."

Unifor would like to thank everyone involved in this representational vote.
