As you may know the Jazz Crew Scheduling collective agreement expired on June 30, 2009. Since the expiration of the agreement the Bargaining Committee and Company has met on a number of occasions to conclude an agreement. This has not materialized to date. The parties are currently in conciliation utilizing the services of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS).
On July 26th Jazz Crew Scheduling conducted a strike vote that resulted in an extremely strong "Yes" mandate to support a just and equitable contract settlement. That being said, the Bargaining Committee met with the company on July 27 and 28 with progress being made on our main issues. The parties are scheduled to meet again in early September with the intent of finalizing the details.
