Jazz CSA/ACS: discussions to resume

October 14, 2009 at 1:00 PM

Jazz and CAW have agreed to meet on October 26 and 27 in Toronto with hopes of constructive discussion. This meeting has been set to resolve the current stalemate left after last months underwhelming ratification result which saw more than fifty per cent of the membership dissatisfied with the tentative agreement presented before them.

Bargaining Committee Chairperson Shirley Anderson-Mio stated, "We are optimistic that the Company wishes to resolve this impasse and get back to regular business in time for the winter/holiday season. Failing a positive outcome, we [CAW] would have no choice but to conduct a strike vote which could ultimately inconvenience the company, the membership and the general public."

The Bargaining Committee is steadfast in finding a resolution and has the best interest of the membership in mind while this process continues.
