CAW Local 2002 has reached an agreement with Jazz
Air to implement two Benefit Coordinator positions, one each for CAW Jazz
CSA/ACS and CAW Jazz Technical Services. Both the Company and the Union see
value in creating these new positions to help employees through the medical
stream.
These Union positions will be filled by
appointment and will be subject to review by the Executive Board. The term of
office will be three (3) years. Time-off will be as required and subject to
operational requirements, but will not be unreasonably denied by the Company.
CAW Local 2002 is accepting application towards
the position of Jazz CSA/ACS & Jazz Technical Services Benefit Coordinator,
whose duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Participate in the joint and cooperative
development of the Disability Management agreements
- Help to establish the trust of the sick or
disabled workers which is essential to secure their participation in
Disability Management
- Help to represent the interests of disabled
workers
- Maintain regular contact and follow up with
sick or disabled workers
- Communicate with the worker’s physician,
treating agencies, WCB/WSIB, and Great West Life Assurance Company
- Assist in coordinating the rehabilitation and
help identify jobs suitable to the worker’s condition and capabilities
- Maintain confidentiality
