Arbitrator Teplitsky to issue orders to resolve outsourcing issues

On Wednesday January 23, 2008 the CAW Jazz Tech Bargaining Committee met with senior management to evaluate the Company’s proposal to resolve the CAW’s concerns over outsourcing.  Management’s proposal was well below the expectations of our membership.   As management’s proposal was unacceptable the Bargaining Committee decided discussions with the Company would be adjourned and we would proceed to arbitration with Arbitrator Martin Teplitsky hearing the matter and issuing orders to all parties.

On Friday January 25, 2008 the CAW Bargaining Committee and Jazz management gave testimony on the outsourcing issue to Arbitrator Teplitsky.  After lengthy a discussion and suggestions by Mr. Teplitsky to resolve the matter it was apparent that management and the CAW were too far apart and an order from Mr. Teplitsky was the only way to resolve the issue.  His order will be made available to the CAW and Jazz management during the week of January 28 and will be communicated to the membership as soon as it is received.
