BARGAINING UPDATE

The Bargaining Committee met with the Employer late last week for scheduled Bargaining. After only a couple of days of dialogue, it became apparent that the Employer was unable to meet the expectations of the Membership. Therefore the decision was made to file a Notice of Dispute under the Canada Labour Code and begin the Conciliation Process. This is not Binding Arbitration. The Conciliation Process is a step that must be complied with as outlined in the Canada Labour Code to allow the parties to reach a final solution to Collective Bargaining.

Collective Bargaining will continue as scheduled between the Union and Employer. The Conciliation Officer will offer whatever assistance requested by the parties.

The Union and Employer have the following dates scheduled to meet:

  • May 21st / 22nd
    May 26th / 27th

  • June 16th / 17th
    June 23rd / 24th

  • July 7th / 8th
