BARGAINING UPDATE

As you are aware the Bargaining Committee and the Company came to a Tentative Agreement last Sunday August 30 2009.

The new three year agreement addresses many of the issues raised by the membership in developing our agenda for negotiations. The new three year agreement contains, an across the board percentage wage increase, premium pay, improvements in areas of the contract addressing the B Scale, shift differential, time off as well as establishing and increasing premium pay within classifications. All of which will be retroactive back to July 1st 2009.

A tentative Ratification schedule has been set and the ratification schedule will be posted once all details are finalized. The Ratification process will begin on Tuesday September 8th and will conclude by September 13. Details of the meeting times and locations will be posted as the times and dates are finalized.

The details of the contract improvements and the corresponding language changes will be made available at the ratifications meetings in the form of a “Ratification Package”. All changes to the collective agreement will be reviewed with the membership at that time and a full discussion and vote will follow.

We want to encourage everyone to participate in the ratification process, and to thank you for your support during the negotiations process.
