Jazz Technical Services: Cash Bank and Stat Bank

EMPLOYEE UPDATE

There has been some concern expressed by Members regarding any remaining "Stat Credits" left over after the conversion to biddable vacation. If a Member declared to have those credits transferred to their Cash Bank it may exceed the Cash Bank limit. This combined with any Retro Active Pay being credited to the Cash Bank would most certainly leave no “Buffer” in the Cash Bank. Also if any credits were left in the Stat Bank they would only be available through adhoc time off requests or be paid out on the first paycheck in the following New Year and not available as "Cash" anytime throughout the year.

The Union and the Company have reached an agreement to better accommodate any overages with Statutory Holiday Credits and or any outstanding retroactive pay that would be allocated to the Cash Bank. The Agreement will be for this year only and will expire on December 31st 2010.

The Company has agreed to a ten thousand dollar "Cap" to be placed on the Cash Bank with the understanding that any funds in the Cash Bank will not exceed six thousand dollars as per the Collective Agreement by December 31st 2010.

Members will be able to make the appropriate withdrawals from their Cash Banks as per the Collective Agreement for time off or "Cash." Furthermore Members will be allowed a second opportunity to transfer any funds from the Cash Bank to their RRSP or Tax Free Savings Account by December 31st 2010.
