EMPLOYEE UPDATE
Over the past several weeks the Bargaining Committee has been dealing with the Company’s intentions of implementing a "Summer Shutdown" (or 'Forced Vacation') in the two Heavy Bases - London and Halifax.
After several meetings and correspondences between the Committee and Management and follow up communication with the Membership in both Bases, the notion of a "Summer Shutdown" has been abandoned by the Company. Management has committed to posting a shift schedule in London and Halifax that is within the confines of the Collective Agreement.
