EMPLOYEE UPDATE
Last week the CAW Bargaining Committee released a bulletin outlining issues surrounding the 2010 vacation bid that the Union was currently dealing with. The most inflammatory of these issues was the revoking of already “Bid and Approved” vacation should an employee not fund any shortfall by December 31st 2009. In conjunction with this, Members in some bases that had not completed their vacation bids were informed they could not bid these partial weeks.
After lengthy discussions with the Vice President of Maintenance and the Labor Relations Group it has been decided that the aforementioned will not occur. The vacation bid process will proceed in accordance with “Past Practices”.
