Jazz Technical Services: Schedule Change

Jazz Technical Services: Schedule Change

October 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM

EMPLOYEE UPDATE

As you are aware each of the bases are undergoing their annual shift bid for the 2010 year. There have been some major changes and departures from the “Normal practices” with respect to the new schedule.

In the Line Bases there have been changes, but the schedule [somewhat] resemble those from before. However in the Heavy Bases of London and Halifax the schedule is a complete departure from previous schedules in that Management is planning on implementing a 5X2. Along with this 5X2 implementation, there is also contemplation of scheduled shut-down periods.

In a meeting that was held on September 23, 2009, the Company notified the Union that these changes would be implemented. Since then there have been conference calls and meetings with Management trying to prevent them [Jazz Inc.] from going ahead with their proposed changes. Early next week there will be a final meeting between the Union and the Company regarding this situation.

Although dissatisfied with the proposed changes, Members in both London and Halifax have demonstrated professionalism while a solution is sought. All Members are asked to give consideration to the Brothers and Sisters in both of these Bases during this difficult time.
