Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

September 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM

The bargaining committee met with the Company on September 23, 2009 to discuss the implementation of the language changes of our new Collective Agreement. Below is a list of the most pertinent items that have been questioned.

  1. All members will see the new rate of pay and 75 cents an hour premium on their October 25 pay. (i.e. pay period of October 1 to 15 receives payment on October 25).

  2. All members will receive retroactive pay for the period July 1 to September 30, 2009 on their November 25 paycheck.

  3. Shift deferential premiums are retroactive to July 1, 2009.

  4. Shift deferential times are considered overtime hours effective July 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

  5. Shift deferential credits will be paid into the employee’s cash bank no later than January 25, 2010.

  6. Members currently on night shift will receive an hour credit into their cash bank in January 2010 plus the existing ½ hour time bank. Members on the Afternoon Shift will receive ¼ hour credit into their cash bank in January 2010 plus the existing ½ hour time bank credit.

  7. Members who had already served 12 months on top of B scale before July 1, 2009, will move to $29.65 effective July 1, 2009 and will receive a new anniversary date of July 1.

  8. Members whose anniversary date is after July 1, 2009, will move to their higher applicable rate of pay on their anniversary date.

We are sure that there will be some obstacles throughout implementation as Kronos will have to be updated and/or modified. If there are any personal inconsistencies please advise your Local Union Representative who will resolve the issue(s) with Local Management.
