In accordance with the CAW National
Constitution and CAW Local 2002 bylaws and the Jazz Technical Services
Collective Agreement, the position of a part-time/as required National Health &
Safety Coordinator is being posted. The duties and
responsibilities will be as follows:

Administer the affairs of the
Local Union which are related to safety and health issues
-
Assisting/Training the District
Chairpersons in establishing Health and Safety committees
-
Assist with the development and
delivery of related training programs on behalf of the Local
-
Conducting educational seminars and workshops
for the membership
-
Assisting in the investigation of
workplace accidents and unsafe or unhealthy working conditions
-
Deal with WCB-related issues in
the workplace
-
Meet with all districts with an
aim to establishing a consistent and effective workplace Health & Safety
policy
-
Preparing information materials
for distribution to the membership and other functions as may be determined by
the National Health & Safety Coordinator, President or the Executive Board
-
To monitor compliance with all
legal requirements on behalf of the Local
-
Must be
active in the community and trade union movement in the area of health and
safety.

Other responsibilities as directed
by the National CAW Health & Safety Director, President and/or the Executive
Board of the Local
As per 4.12.01 of the CAW Local 2002
Bylaws, "Local 2002 Health and Safety Coordinator(s) shall be appointed by the
President of the National Union, CAW with the recommendation of the Local
Union's Executive Board."
Please note: This is not a full-time
position. Time off will be granted as required for this position as outlined in
the Collective Agreement.
Any Jazz Air Technical Services

The term of office will be until
December 31st, 2011.
