Resolving Labour Relations Issues at Jazz Technical Services - Toronto

Resolving Labour Relations Issues at Jazz Technical Services - Toronto

April 7, 2006 at 12:00 AM

There must be improvements in the labour relations process so issues are addressed quickly and problems do not escalate into irresolvable conflicts. To implement a new labour relations structure for Jazz Technical Services in Toronto, the Executive Board of our Local and the Jazz Technical Services Bargaining Committee have implemented the following action items.

A seat on the Bargaining Committee for Jazz Tech – Toronto

The Executive Board of Local 2002 has added a seat on your Bargaining Committee for the Toronto Base. Writs of election, nomination forms, and information on the dates and location for voting are posted on your local bulletin board.

Elections for District Officers at Jazz Tech – Toronto

Working on behalf of our membership can sometimes involve stressful circumstances, but toughing it out through difficult issues until improvements are made is also deeply rewarding. All members are encouraged to take an active part in selecting your local leadership team, and it is hoped many of you will consider standing for election. A lack of union experience is not a barrier to being a good CAW officer. If elected, new officers will be provided with all necessary training and support to be successful employee representatives.

Note: Art.19.11.02 - The Company further commits that no employee covered by this Agreement will be unlawfully interfered with, coerced or discriminated against by the Company, its officers or agents, because of lawful activity on behalf of the Union.
