Staff Reductions in Jazz Tech

October 6, 2008 at 12:00 AM
In July 2008, after Air Canada made the announcement regarding staff reductions to “Combat the rising price of Fuel,” Jazz made a similar announcement to its employees. Since that time Jazz Tech has not seen any reductions.

As of late, Jazz Management has informed the Technical Group that it will be reducing staff in some “Classifications” and Bases due to the “Inactivity” triggered by the Flight Schedule. Also the Company was “Shifting” some of the “Work Load” from one location to another.

To date the Union has been apprehensive as the Company has made changes to its “Original Plans” and has seen some reductions postponed and rescinded. As this is a huge impact, all members are encouraged to show their support for their affected brothers and sisters.
