WEBB Bargaining comes to a halt

WEBB Bargaining comes to a halt

April 3, 2009 at 12:00 AM

WEBB Airport Services opened bargaining on Feb. 4th. To date we have met with the Company on eight separate occasions.

On March 31, Buck Reed, a conciliation officer from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services joined the bargaining process. Some progress was made and many issues agreed to. However, there is still a lot of work to be done before a tentative agreement can be reached. The employer has asked for “roll backs” that employees should not have to absorb.

Subsequently, talks have broken off. Although there are no future meetings scheduled, we are optimistic that an agreement can be reached. Until that time the current collective agreement and all of its provisions remain intact.

We will continue to keep you informed of any further developments.

In solidarity,

WEBB Bargaining Committee,
