District elections 2014: voting information

September 11, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Greetings,

Very soon the Unifor local 2002 membership will be receiving an important letter concerning electronic voting in the upcoming elections for District Chair, Bargaining Committee member, Vice Chair and Health and Safety. This letter will contain an Elector ID and password that you will be able to use in the upcoming District Officer elections that apply to your district and/or base.

Please keep that information in a safe place as you will be able to use this Elector ID and Password for multiple upcoming elections.

We want to encourage everyone to use the online voting process. Electronic voting is safe, fast, secure and convenient. You will be able to access it, within the posted 72-hour period, from anywhere you can get an internet connection.

Depending on nominations received, your district elections may be held over the course of one, two or three rounds of elections. Electronic Voting times will be as follows:

  • First Round: September 29th starting at 00:01 to October 1st ending at 23:59
  • Second Round: October 9th starting at 00:01 to October 11th ending at 23:59
  • Third Round: October 23rd starting at 00:01 to October 25th ending at 23:59

To vote, simply visit www.unifor2002.org and click on the voting link during the listed election periods and then enter the Elector ID and Password that was provided to you.

Make sure to add your correct personal email address when you vote. This will guarantee that you are informed if additional rounds of elections are necessary for your district and/or base.

As electronic voting for upcoming elections is a new process for us, we will also provide workplace balloting as a secondary alternative. Workplace voting times will be posted in each work location, but we urge you to make electronic voting a success by participating online.

The workplace balloting dates will be as follows:

  • First Round: October 3rd and 4th
  • Second Round: October 16th and 17th
  • Third Round: October 29th and 30th

NOTE: For units, districts or bases that previously voted by mail-in ballot, electronic voting will replace mail-in ballots as the voting process.

Important: If you have not received your user name and password by mail by Thursday September 25, 2014 please contact your Regional Vice President:
