Local 2002 newsletter dedicated to bringing you information about our Local and
our members. For the month of April, we are introducing you to the following
three units:

Exploits Valley Air Services (EVAS)
- Halifax and Gander, District 510
Our members are pilots at EVAS Air Charters, operating as an
Express Carrier on behalf of Air Canada. EVAS operates scheduled flights
throughout Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, and Prince
Edward Island utilizing a fleet of Beech-craft aircraft. EVAS has been providing
aviation services in Atlantic Canada for over 20 years, which includes corporate
air charters, air cargo transportation, and air ambulance transfers.
CLS Catering - Vancouver, District 180
Local 2002 represents 500
members in Vancouver, these members provide in-flight food catering for a number
of airlines operating from Vancouver International Airport including Cathay
Pacific and Lufthansa. Our members also prepare takeout food items for Starbucks
coffee chain.
CLS Catering Services is a joint venture of Cathay Pacific
Airways Ltd. and LSG Sky Chefs, the world’s largest airline caterer and provider
of integrated service solutions. CLS operates from both Vancouver and Toronto
airports and has been an industry leader in Canada for over 20 years. Local 2002
has been proudly representing the CLS Vancouver members needs for over 20 years.
Swissport - Quebec, District 474
We represent Passenger Service,
Cabin Grooming and Ramp agents in Quebec. These members perform number of duties
such as; check-in of passengers, gate functions, attend to passengers with
special needs, track delayed baggage, cleaning of aircraft interiors, load and
unload baggage, marshaling of aircraft, lavatory servicing, aircraft towing,
managing of loading bridges and aircraft doors, and perform all other ancillary
duties.
