Ornge: Negotiations Update from your bargaining committee

Ornge: Negotiations Update from your bargaining committee

June 5, 2023 at 5:30 PM

Following a series of virtual proposal meetings that took place in March and April this year, your Unifor bargaining committee began the next course of action and opened talks with the Employer. Negotiations opened virtually on May 17, and 18 and continued in-person and virtually over 6 additional days.

Discussions, to date, have been productive, but there are still several important monetary issues that remain unresolved. The Union and Employer have further dates scheduled for June 9th, 21st, and 27th. Our intent is to continue talks and reach a fair deal at the bargaining table.

Unifor strives to protect the economic rights and working conditions of members. This is part of the Union’s mandate, and we will continue to demand improvements to working conditions and compensation for Ornge members.

Our objective is to be as open and transparent with members as possible, without undermining the integrity of the bargaining process. We will provide additional information as it become available.

The current Unifor/Ornge collective bargaining agreement will expire on July 31, 2023.
