We have had many members inquiring about the CLS
Collective Agreement which expired on April 30, 2008. We want to inform you that that
even though we have gone past the expiration of the collective agreement, the
document remains in effect until we ratify the new agreement. All rights and
protections remain in full effect. The Bargaining Committee has already told the
company that we expect all wage/premium increases to be retro-active to the end
of the old agreement.
Bargaining continues to progress slowly but in a
positive manner. Leslie Dias – President of the Local 2002 joined the Bargaining
Committee on April 17th adding her experience and expertise to the bargaining
process. We are continuing to work through the non-monetary issues trying to
resolve many of the issues that the members raised during our proposal meetings.
We are set to meet with the company for our next
round of negotiation on May 12-16th.We will update the members as soon as
information can be released. Your Bargaining Committee wants to thank you for
your continued support.
