Jazz CSA/ACS: Arbitration update on Newfoundland and Labrador grievances

Jazz CSA/ACS: Arbitration update on Newfoundland and Labrador grievances

February 2, 2024 at 9:00 AM

As a follow up to our November 29th communication, the parties met via video conference on January 31 to debate the final arguments in regards to the preliminary objection that the Company raised.

What is the Preliminary objection in regards to the grievance arbitration?

A preliminary objection is any argument raised at the onset (i.e. beginning) of a hearing. The purpose in this case is to determine if the issue can be settled by arbitration.

At this point the Arbitrator has not rendered a decision on the jurisdiction issue. It was, however, agreed that dates for mediation will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks.

We will keep you posted when the dates are confirmed.
