A Message from Euila

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

It’s June and summer is officially here. I hope you are able to make time to enjoy the summer and have an opportunity to rest and relax with family and friends.

During the last few months, I have traveled across the country, meeting members and participating at the negotiation's table with Bargaining Committees. Along with the elected delegates from Local  2002, I attended three regional councils: Quebec, Prairie, and Atlantic Regional Councils. Unifor Regional Councils meet a minimum of one time per year. Delegates and leaders convene to discuss and debate issues relevant in their regions including provincial labour laws, regional economic and social concerns.

It is inspiring to see the passion and dedication Unifor members bring forward on Regional and National campaigns.

Local 2002 Collective Bargaining Update:
Members have ratified Collective Agreements at Jazz Aviation – Crew Schedulers,  and Swissport - Vancouver. Also Air Georgian and ATS Moncton members ratified their first agreements. I want to say thank you to the Bargaining Committees for their hard work during negotiations and also to the members for participating in the ratification votes.

Women’s Advocate District 344 – Appointed
On April 5, 2018, Amy Broderick, who is based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario was appointed to the position of Women’s Advocate for ORNGE. Women’s Advocates are an invaluable resource for women and our members who are faced with difficult situations. We look forward to working with sister Amy in her new position.
