Dear Unifor Local 2002 Members,

Today is Pink Shirt Day. A day when we can all take a stand against bullying. In today's digital age, social media platforms like Facebook, Telegram, and WhatsApp have become integral tools for communication, both personally and professionally, within our union. While these platforms offer a convenient way to stay connected, it's crucial that we uphold the values of respect and professionalism in all our online interactions.

When using social media, please remember the following guidelines:

  1. Respectful Discourse:
Always engage in discussions with civility and respect. Focus on critiquing ideas rather than attacking individuals. Remember the adage: "Attack the idea, not the person."

  2. Unity and Support:
Posts made on social media reflect not only individual perspectives but also our collective identity as members of Unifor Local 2002. Let's stand together in solidarity, supporting one another and upholding our shared values.

  3. Harassment-Free Environment:
Our union is committed to fostering workplaces free from harassment. This commitment extends to our online interactions. Please refrain from posting any content that could be construed as harassment or discrimination, whether during work hours or off-duty, on personal social media accounts.

To ensure compliance with our policies, please take a moment to review the Unifor Harassment Policy and the Unifor Local 2002 social media Policy and guidelines. These resources provide valuable guidance on maintaining respectful and professional conduct both in person and online.
