Porter Airlines Customer Service Representatives (CSR): Vacancy for (1) Women’s Advocate Position

The Unifor - Porter Airlines Women’s Advocate is a newly negotiated position in the collective agreement between Unifor Local 2002 and Porter Airlines. Unifor Local 2002 is accepting applications for the position of Women’s Advocate for Porter Airlines – Customer Service Representatives.
 
Role of the Women’s Advocate
The role of the women’s advocate is to listen, provide support, offer information, appropriate resources, and follow up in a confidential manner. Individuals interested in applying for the Porter Airlines Women’s Advocate position should send a resume outlining their experience and reasons for applying for the position no later than Monday, July 31^st, 2023, at noon EST.

Article # 45 - Women’s Advocate in the Workplace
 
Women Employees in the bargaining unit facing situations of domestic violence or abuse may
confer with a Women's Advocate who shall direct the employee toward the appropriate support
mechanisms.  The Company will provide time off for training paid for by the Union, subject to operational requirements.  Should the Women's Advocate require time off the job in order to fulfil her duties, the Union will review the request and, if in agreement, will submit a leave of absence request prior to the requested leave for approval by the People and Culture department. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, provided that Company-paid time off will not exceed eight (8) hours in any.

The term of office will be until the expiry of the collective agreement - April 27, 2027. The candidate will be required to attend an initial 40-hour basic training session.
