As previously communicated, Unifor filed for conciliation on
February 20, 2019. The Union and Company have met with the Conciliator Officer on
April 24, 2019, and on
May 14 to 16, 2019. At the end of yesterday’s mediation meeting with the Company and the Conciliator, the Company presented it’s “Final Offer” to the Bargaining Committee.
Despite our hard work, these mediation meetings did not result in a tentative agreement, as we were unable to resolve key monetary issues that are important to our members. The Bargaining Committee has a responsibility to present this “final offer” and explain the details on what has been bargained to date.
Your Bargaining Committee will be holding a Ratification meeting on
Wednesday, May 29, 2019. At these meetings, the Committee will review the Company’s “final offer”, and answer your questions so members can make an informed decision when they cast their vote. These meetings are very important and all members are urged to attend.
Confirmation of the meeting times and location will be communicated as soon as it is confirmed.
