ASP Security: Bargaining Update for Unifor Members

ASP Security: Bargaining Update for Unifor Members

October 16, 2023 at 1:30 PM

Last week, Unifor and ASP met with Conciliator, Donal O’Reardon for a full day of contract negotiations. This is a continuing development after Unifor filed for conciliation at the end of August due to the lack of common ground with the employer on key bargaining issues.

At the end of the day on Friday, the parties still remain far apart on significant monetary items that our members have indicated as clear priorities. Unifor remains committed to actively participating in ongoing negotiations and obtaining the very best deal for the hardworking members at ASP Security.

We anticipate the employer will respond to the union’s last proposal, which was delivered late in the day on October 13th.

When we have more information to share, your Unifor bargaining committee will provide an update. In the interim, please ensure you have subscribed to Unifor 2002 e-news to receive additional bargaining updates.

Please note that we are reaching a critical phase in the negotiations process as the conciliation timeline winds down. Your unity and solidarity will be a key factor in Unifor attaining the best deal with the employer.

Unifor Local 2002 is part of Unifor – Canada's largest private sector union – representing 315,000 workers in every major area of the economy.
