Update to all Air Canada Mainline members

June 29, 2026 at 9:24 AM

Dear Sisters, Brothers and Siblings,

As you are aware the $5,000 signing bonus has been set up for payment on the pay date of June 30. We had requested this to be paid as an off-cycle cheque, along with the retroactive pay.  We have been equally as surprised to see it happen so quickly as we were expecting a later date for payment.

We are disappointed in the lack of communication from the employer, and we have also requested that the retro-pay (to March 1 2026) be set up as separate cheque. It has not been confirmed, but as soon as we have more information, we will communicate to you.

Some members have suggested that they have paid higher income tax rates, because of the payment.  The Federal taxation rate is 14% up to $58, 523, anything $58,523 to $117,045 is taxed at 20.5%.  Provincial income tax will vary. Please verify your provincial rates. For those paying higher taxation rates, we recommend you verify with HR centre of excellence to ensure no errors.

As soon as we hear about time frames for the retro payment, we will be sure to communicate with you.
